About Me!

Amber Solomon, beadwork designer and owner of Immerse Collective. Solomon is a Wolastoqewi woman born and raised in Bilijk. She is a visual artist whose mediums include beadwork, murals, basketry, quillwork, and digital design. Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University (‘23). Solomon has her work displayed at the Owen’s Art Gallery, at NBCCD, curated murals for Bilijk and George Street Middle School, designed logos for Mawokehkimsultine Learning Centre and The Hello Crows band, various projects with organizations, as well as has an online portfolio and does shows at various craft sales. She is currently studying Wabanaki Visual Arts (‘25) at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and will graduate in the spring of 2025.

Through material and visual culture, Amber Solomon’s work embodies a repetitive practice that holds close to her Wolastoqiyik culture; beading symbolism through shapes, forms, and patterns that reflect her life and ancestral stories. Her work delves into the reclamation of traditional teachings in connection to her growing individuality and identity. Through artwork, Solomon has grown a passion for designing, creating, and instilling pride in showcasing Indigenous culture.

In January 2023, she expanded her creativity to include custom graphics and embroidered apparel and accessories. Immerse Collective was inspired to promote mental health awareness. While many of us experience mental health challenges, Immerse Collective intends on showing others light and love in times when we need it the most ♡
